BALEO
Cold
morning,
We make out like two full moons,
Forever teenagers,
Discovering love in the sea of Lamalera.
Like a
poet forever in awe of the world,
I write you in spears and canoes.
On
the rocky hill, voices rise, calling your name,
And I saw your crown—
Longing for an instant death,
To be immortalized.
Baleo,
Baleo,
Like winter nirvana,
I’ll bind you to the shore,
As the white-eyed folk savor the blessings of your body.
With the silver gleam in your eyes,
You light up the ocean blue,
You ignite my heart.
CARRIED
AWAY BY TIME
Slowly,
I drowned in the beauty of today’s world,
Taking what I pleased.
Tempted by modernity,
I fell into the happiness I desired.
With
the changing times,
The world grows ever more,
Until I forget everything about where I came from.
In life, I began to lose my way,
And now I realize—
Reflecting on all that has passed
Brings sorrow at the end of the road.
The
Sea Carves a Tale
In
the vast ocean,
The whale's spear carves a tale,
Where the sea and dark sky unite.
Traditions will not fade with time,
On the water, waves continue to sway.
The
whale glides by, a trembling giant,
Each fin holds a secret within.
Bravery and gentleness unite,
In melodies that preserve our ancestors' culture.
Ritual
at the Beach
Prayers are offered,
The giant whale,
Souls are honored.
Not merely to reveal,
But the harmony of humanity and nature remains eternal.
The
community unites with one vision,
Facing the waves together to sail.
The whale’s spear, a symbol of identity,
In the sea, culture is etched, “it shall not fade.”
